Sending Some Fall Inspo Your Way

It felt like July and August came and went in the blink of an eye. That said, I couldn’t be more excited to welcome fall. So much so, that I’ve been browsing the internet and have already begun adding a few new (and vintage) fall pieces to my wardrobe.

Perhaps it’s because last fall, the majority of my wardrobe was tucked away in cardboard boxes in preparation for our move, so this year, I’ve decided to make the most of the season by starting my shopping a little earlier.

But before we get into any of that, here’s a little recap of what I’ve been up to lately:

We became LACMA members this summer after visiting during one of the heatwaves. We explored the new David Geffen Galleries and ate at the new Erewhon café next to the museum. I’m excited to make the most of our membership and incorporate more visits into my morning walks.

Stay In This Lane

There’s been lots of morning Pilates followed by coffee runs, family time, beach escapes, and plenty of R&R. Ryan has also been teaching me how to play tennis, a sport I’ve picked up on and off over the years and always wished I had learned earlier. We watched Rafa earlier this year, which was a huge influence and definitely reignited my interest in the sport.

It’s been a hot and sticky summer in LA, so I don’t have any revolutionary wardrobe debrief to share with you. I’ve spent the majority of my time in anything cotton poplin. I do, however, feel the need to share that this mini Barn Tote has proven to be the most reliable summer bag. Highly suggest grabbing it before it’s gone.

Mémoire World invited me to their first summer soiree in honor of their new collection at the very lovely Galerie Half. Everything was absolutely perfect. I wore a pair of trousers from The Row I found on TRR earlier this year for less than $200. They’re called the Zuzana Pant, and I actually found another pair just like them that I suggest you grab. They’re incredibly versatile, almost like a chino but fancier. They’re very lightweight and have an almost satin-like sheen to them.

I paired them with an old Row silk open knit top, my trusty Matteau blazer, last year’s Cecily bag, and Row Ella heels (limited sizing here).

Shortly after, we hit the road to Vegas for a fun weekend of browsing the shops, ordering room service, lounging by the pool, dining out, and absolutely no gambling.

I stumbled into Prada and fell in LOVE with the Route bag in leather, but since I already own too many black bags, the green khaki feels like the more suitable option, but of course it’s sold out. I also spotted my DREAM Prada bag while I was there, and now I can’t stop thinking about it.

Ella heels proving themselves yet again. The croc-effect clutch is from Toteme (you can find it here), and the blazer is about seven years old and belongs to my husband. I stole it because I got cold. Underneath, I wore a silk-satin camisole I purchased last year (stretch version available here), paired with $25 vintage Levi’s from eBay.

Hair has been looking great thanks to this product. I recently partnered with Innersense, which is especially exciting since I’ve been a longtime lover of their products.

Now for the part you’re probably here for. Fall shopping!

I began collecting open-knit tops and sweaters a while ago. I find them so visually beautiful, but they’re also the perfect transitional pieces to have in your wardrobe, especially during fall. I like to dig really deep when I’m on TRR, and often I’m rewarded with gems like these two black knits.

They’re both from the ’90s. The one on the left is a Prada open-knit pullover, very similar to the Omiko from The Row that I purchased earlier this spring. The one on the right is a vintage cashmere V-neck from the Tom Ford for Gucci era. While on the prowl, I also spotted this Armani silk open-knit on Poshmark for $30!

I can’t wait for the temperature to drop so I can wear them with these black corduroys I picked up this spring (attention low stock!) and this leather jacket I purchased around the same time.

I noticed a gap in my shoe department: Until yesterday, I didn’t own an elegant, minimal black mule. When I was packing for Vegas, I really wished I had a dressy flat shoe I could wear to dinner that was still comfortable enough to walk around in. This pair immediately came to mind after spotting them on a few of my girlfriends and on Kendall (pictured above). Linking the suede version in case your size is sold out.

These Khaite kitten-wedge mules had also been on my wishlist for a while. I debated them, but after seeing my friend Summer in the Bordeaux, I couldn’t help myself and pulled the trigger. They both arrived yesterday and feel elegant, yet easy and make for the perfect transitional shoes from summer to fall.

I love the elegant shape of the Row mules. They also have a really lovely sheen to them in person. The Khaite sandals have an insane color combination, the gold and Bordeaux work so beautifully together, and I’m really into the kitten wedge. I can see myself wearing both with a light knit or jacket this fall.

I’m not too worried about boots this fall/winter since I checked off this flat pair from my wishlist this spring (currently 10% off), but this pair feels very tempting seeing as it has an additional 20% off and you can’t beat a classic shape.

I am, however, really interested in adding this suede belt to my collection, along with the classic Ophelia sweater that recently came back in stock. I already own it in navy and have been craving the black. I’m also always on the hunt for delicate wool or cashmere knits such as this or this.

Or perhaps this Stepny turtleneck. I don’t own any cashmere turtlenecks, but I do own suede jackets and coats and feel really inspired by the styling here.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, expect me to report back as the temperature drops! For now, some outfit pics from March that I think could be inspirational for easing into fall dressing. Sweaters are old Toteme, but you can still find the capris, kitten flip flops, and leather bag.
