This weekend, I walked into Neiman Marcus and tried on a handful of pieces I’ve had my eye on, plus a couple of other finds that felt irresistible. The last time I stepped into one of their fitting rooms was back in 2022. I’ve gotten so accustomed to ordering everything online that I almost forgot the simple joy of playing dress up. And that’s exactly what I did. I spent quite some time trying on everything, experimenting with different looks, and capturing everything so that I could share it with you.
There’s really nothing like experiencing clothes in person—being able to touch the fabrics and see the color palette up close. Especially with a brand like The Row, that tactile element is part of the charm. I also love the way they curate their interiors. And while their corner at Neiman’s doesn’t quite compare to the Melrose store (or their other locations), it’s still beautifully done and well worth a visit.
Immediately, I was drawn to the butter-yellow tones, especially in the form of this cashmere V-neck and this beautiful silk dress (more on that later).
Could you find a butter-yellow V-neck anywhere else? Sure, but would it be this specific shade of butter yellow, or have the same softness and feel? That’s the question.
This V-neck was absolutely perfect. It’s called the Migeia Top, and I’m wearing a size M. I love how lightweight it feels and how it works as both an accent piece and a versatile layer. It pairs beautifully with jeans, as pictured above, or could be draped over the shoulders with a dress.
On the left, I styled it with the Dacania jeans (also available here) and black pointed leather mules, two pieces I’ve also been dreaming about. The jeans were a no for me, simply because I don’t find them groundbreaking enough for my closet, but I can see the appeal. The mules are a classic wardrobe staple, though I do think you can find something very similar elsewhere. Take for example these.
On the right, I styled the sweater with pieces from my own closet: jeans from CH, Constance sandals, and The Row’s Classic Belt in deep brown. The bra is definitely not the right choice here (Cuup balconette), but it helps paint the picture of just how lightweight and sheer this sweater feels.
What shocked me the most was how much I loved this bag. When I saw it online a couple of months ago, it didn’t feel like anything particularly special. But in person, that was a completely different story. It’s incredibly easy to style, perhaps it’s the classic shape or the neutral tones. Either way, it was such a pleasure pretending this was mine.
What I really went in hoping to find were pieces I’d had saved for a while, and I was happy to spot them on the floor. I love an easy, classic piece more than anything. I wrote about this Floris white long sleeve here and how I was especially drawn to the drop shoulder.
Sadly, my size wasn’t in stock, so I’m trying on an XL here, which made me realize I could easily wear a size M for a more relaxed fit. Styled with Dacania jeans, Constance sandals, and Beau tote.
The Nitha sweater (available here and here), was another piece I was drawn to, though I couldn’t realistically see it in my closet. I already own the Maira sweater, and trying on the Nitha confirmed that the two felt a bit too similar in theory. I have on a size M. Both tops paired with Daciana Jeans.
Gary was the sales associate helping me out that day. He ran upstairs to send me photos of the shoe selection and brought the pairs I chose into the fitting room so I could try them on with the clothes. He was so kind that I felt indebted asking for more than two pairs, though I definitely need to go back and try those loafers!
Next up, the Tori Shrunken T-Shirt in Navy (available here and here). This runs small as the name suggests, and feels thicker and sturdy compared to other cotton tees I’ve tried. For reference, I own the Margo from Leset in navy, which is much lighter and more breezy. The Tori Tee, on the other hand, feels like a great option to rotate throughout the year.
On the left I paired it with the Dacania jeans, pointed mules, Beau tote, and classic belt in dark brown.
Middle, I have them styled with the Karsten cropped cotton pants. For reference, I’m 5’6”, and the length was perfect on me. Though this image suggests otherwise, they’re not entirely white. On the floor, they read as a soft, powdery blue, and I’m curious if that tone would become more noticeable in sunlight. They’re incredibly comfortable and feel so light, almost like you’re wearing nothing. They’re the kind of pants that feel effortless for everyday, but can also be easily dressed up.
I paired them with these white Mary Janes, which I would have bought on the spot if my size had been available. I’m a true 38 in The Row flats, so the 39 felt a bit too big, while the 37.5 felt snug. I couldn’t risk it, but these will definitely become part of the closet at some point.

I couldn’t snap a good photo of the following dress, but just know it’s one of those no-brainer pieces every woman should have in her closet. It’s called the Mavy Dress, and it is incredibly soft. Yet another piece that can be styled with a strappy heel and clutch for an evening look, or with a raffia bag and sandals, like pictured above for something more effortless
But the best piece of this entire haul was this incredible silk dress (alt. option here and this looks identical). It’s probably one of the nicest things I’ve ever tried on, and I couldn’t help but think of Andie in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. I can’t justify it for myself right now, but if you’re headed somewhere special soon, please get this. It’s called the Barika Dress (available here, and here), and it truly is the perfect length. It has two side slits, a classic back, and is absolutely to die for.
While I didn’t leave with everything I tried on, I walked away with plenty of inspiration. I hope this post was helpful to you as well and gave you a better look at these pieces, especially if they were already on your radar.
